Welcome to Autumn Springs

This has been a long time coming

After working on my first series, The Longest Night, I needed a break and a chance to shift gears. While The Longest Night is dark and heavy, Seymour & Clops swings in the complete opposite direction.

There are still Afrofuturist themes in these comic strips, but because the story doesn't take place in the future, I would classify it more as Afro-surrealism mixed with comedy and slice-of-life storytelling.

I created Seymour & Clops many, many years ago. It was inspired by my then-new-born son and a cat we owned named Abbas. My son was especially bright from the very beginning, and Abbas was belligerent and rude by human standards. The two were so different that I began to wonder what would happen if they were friends. From that idea, Seymour & Clops was born.

Since then, I've had another child, and different aspects of both of their personalities have found their way into Seymour & Clops.

As you read, I hope these strips bring a smile to your face in the midst of your busy day. When you come across a comic you enjoy, please share it with your friends, family, acquaintances, and even your enemies.

I've committed to updating this blog with a new comic every Friday (and sometimes more often, depending on what's happening in my life).

Thank you for reading, and welcome to the world of Seymour & Clops.
